This 11 mile race was described in the book "Feet in the Clouds' by Richard Askwith as;

".... I've done everything in fell-running - Snowdon, the Three Peaks, Ben Nevis, The Bob Graham, the Karrimor. And I tell you, none of them's as hard as this".

After spending last week complaining of man-flu (that's a cold to you and me) James was unable to train. When he started the race he said

"It was pretty immediately that I could feel the difference in my breathing.

If you click through to this link you will see the route that James ran. The weather for the race was cold with patches of snow and dry.

Final time for this race was 3:10:16. A steady timing in preparation for the next training race on March 11th.

The main event -

On May 5th, James will be competing in The Brecon Beacons off-road ultra marathon. Raising sponsorship for MIND.

The Brecon Beacons, located in South Wales, offer some of the most stunning scenery in the country. Starting out at the village hall of Talybot-on-Usk, James will be covering a distance of 51.87km/ 32.2 miles.

This strenuous course will take him to elevations of 3538 metres/ 11608 feet. As on all James' runs, he will be accompanied by his beloved whippet Myszka.
