James has spent the last couple of weeks in training for his Ultra Marathon and we caught up with him to see where he’d been running and how he is feeling.

In case you weren’t aware, James our MD is in training for the Brecon Beacons off road ultra marathon. Whilst training he is raising sponosrship for the mental health charity MIND.

On May 5th James will be travelling to the Brecon Beacons, in South Wales. Starting out at the village hall of Talybot-on-Usk, James will be covering a distance of 51.87km/ 32.2 miles. This strenuous course will take him to elevations of 3538 metres/ 11608 feet.

Ll?n Peninsular – March 16th, 17th and 18th, 5 mile runs each day

Also referred to as the Welsh Riveria and classified as an Area of outstanding natural beauty. The Ll?n peninsular is in Gwynedd,  North West Wales.  James was running along the Llanbedrog headland and area covered in gorse and heather. With the weather being so cold and windy, it prevented James from doing one long run. Instead he ran 5 miles on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Although that sounds less challenging than a 15 mile run. Each day was harder than the previous as his legs were still recovering.

Mortimer Forest Trail Run – March 25th, 8.8 mile run

On March 25th James took part in the tough and muddy Mortimer Forest Trail Run. He was supposed to be running with 4 friends, unfortunately they all dropped out. That didn’t deter James as he ran the race in 1hour 36mins and 50 seconds.

Following this race James said “I feel that my training is going very well for the big event. I have already covered 198 miles and during the race I managed to beat my personal best. A huge thank you to everyone who has already sponsored me and those who are going to sponsor me. Also to my family and the teams at MyWorkwear and Made in the Midlands for their ongoing encouragement and support”

Here are a couple of photo’s from James’ race:

A big thumbs up and a new personal best for James
